Our carbon steel wok has been pre-seasoned, eliminating the need for complicated seasoning steps. The wok is not a storage container, so avoid keeping corrosive substances in it for extended periods. Hand wash the wok with cleaning sponges, dry it thoroughly, and then coat it with a layer of oil to maintain the nonstick surface. Refrain from using the dishwasher or stainless steel sponges.
The package includes a Silicone Spatula, a Carbon Steel Wok, a Vertical Lid, and an Instruction Manual.
Carbon steel is the optimal wok material as it develops a natural nonstick surface once seasoned. Our wok is free of chemical coatings and has been pre-seasoned at high temperatures exceeding 1000°F using nitrogen treatment, ensuring excellent wear resistance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature tolerance.
The large wok pan responds quickly to heat adjustments and is designed to lock in the juices and flavors of the ingredients. Its greater curve and higher walls allow heat to be less concentrated on the flat bottom and better distributed up the walls. The high curvature results in a broader base for maximum heat transfer area, enabling the burner flames to envelop the wok efficiently.
The flat-bottomed design of the wok makes it well-suited for home use, as it does not require a wok ring to sit securely on various stovetops, including electric, induction, and gas. In addition to stir-frying, the Todlabe cooking wok allows you to prepare healthy meals using various traditional cooking techniques, such as pan-frying, braising, and deep-frying.
The ergonomic wooden handle is designed for a comfortable grip and protection against burns. The wok body weighs 3.15 pounds, measures 13 inches wide and 3.9 inches deep, and can accommodate food portions for at least 3-6 people, making it ideal for family meals or small gatherings.
The vertical lid design provides a more comfortable grip, allowing you to "stand it up" instead of placing it on the countertop. The Asian Cookware wok set also includes a silicone spatula.
